Vehicle Background:
This is a top-quality Oldsmobile 442 W-30 clone. This car was originally born a 1972 Olds 442 Convertible with a numbers-matching 350ci Small-Block V8. From there it became what we have here today, a combination of all the right ingredients to create the ultimate Olds 442.
The W-30 model was the one to have, offering the highest performance of the 442 line. 1972 represents the last model year of its body style, where 1973 ushered in a more-conservative car in the face of new emissions laws. With the adaptation to new emissions, the 1971 and 1972 W-30s saw a consecutive reductions in output from the potent 1970 spec 455ci engine. In 1970 the first big-block was offered in the 442, a powerful 455ci engine, and it offered the most potent output ever in an Olds 442. The 1971 grilles, headlamp bezels and tail lights were retained as the owner preferred them to the correct 1972 spec, the originals of which can also accompany the car on request.
The car was expertly painted by Royal Coach in Chicago. The chosen color is Electron Blue from the 2002 Corvette Z06 color pallette, complimented by correct striping and badging. This car is both a stunner at the curb and a beast on the road.
